Fire testing of a prototype clay wall construction for the Novo Nordisk Foundation Headquarters in Hellerup, Denmark

The clay walls in the fire test are a rethinking of the tradition of half-timbered framing. It is an over-sized half-timbered construction. The CLT framing measures 40x40 cm in cross-section. The frame is approx. 3.5 x 4.5 m.

Recreated Skønvirke Frieze Adds New Insight to the Architectural History of the Workers’ Museum in Copenhagen

The restoration of the Workers’ Museum’s Great Hall in Copenhagen has revealed a rare and previously hidden Skønvirke (Art Nouveau) frieze in the hall’s vaulted ceiling. It has now been fully restored and tells an important story about the cultural heritage of both craftsmanship and the labor movement.

Color Archaeology of the Sølvtorv Complex

We have renovated the Sølvtorv Complex as part of the new Natural History Museum in the Botanical Garden. In close collaboration with the Copenhagen Conservator, a thorough study was conducted of the building’s original color schemes and paint layers.
