Prequalified for Lilla Katarina at Slussen in Stockholm
At the heart of Slussen’s historic and urban hub in Stockholm, a new office building is set to help shape city life — Lundgaard & Tranberg Architects is among the five prequalified teams selected to compete in the design competition for Lilla Katarina.
The project is part of the comprehensive transformation of Slussen and is prominently located at the intersection of Södermalm, Gamla Stan, and the waterfront. With views across Stockholm and direct connections to the city’s new public spaces, the commission offers significant architectural opportunities and carries a special responsibility within the city’s evolving urban fabric.
The developer’s ambition extends beyond a conventional office building. Lilla Katarina is intended to be a building of the highest quality, where architecture, sustainability, and human needs come together in harmony. The vision is to create an open and welcoming place — an urban everyday space where work, meetings, and daily life are interwoven.
The five prequalified teams are:
Lundgaard & Tranberg Architects / Ahrbom & Partner
Marge Arkitekter / Studio Stockholm Arkitektur
Henning Larsen / Okidoki
Waugh Thistleton Architects / In Praise of Shadows Arkitektur
Fojab / Cobe
