Lundgaard & Tranberg prequalified for the competition for the new Rogaland Theatre and Stavanger Museum

Six architectural teams have now been selected to take part in the competition to design the new Rogaland Theatre and Stavanger Museum on Kannikhøyden in Stavanger, Norway. We are among the prequalified teams, participating in collaboration with the Norwegian firm Helen & Hard.

A total of 37 applications were submitted to the selection committee, which evaluated them based on criteria such as experience with complex, public-oriented cultural buildings, the ability to integrate and revitalize existing and new architecture, as well as motivation, competencies, and team organization.

Leidulf Skjørestad, Director of Urban Environment and Urban Development in Stavanger Municipality and member of the selection committee, states:

— We received 37 strong applications. It has been a demanding process to narrow the field down to six firms moving on to the next stage. That said, we are very pleased with the selected teams. They have presented solid references, strong collaborations, and compelling motivation letters. We now look forward to seeing how they approach the task.

The six selected teams are

Lundgaard & Tranberg and Helen & Hard

Dorte Mandrup and Holon

Kima Arkitektur and Mestres Wåge Arkitekter

Lund Hagem Arkitekter, DRDH Architects, Jonas Thor and Edit

Moreau Kusunoki

Reiulf Ramstad Arkitekter, 3RW and Schjelderup & Gram

An official exhibition of the competition proposals will open at Stavanger Concert Hall on 23 October 2025, and the final winner will be announced on December 2nd 2025.
