Comfort House

As winner of the national competition ‘Process and product development in building’ in 1995, Lundgaard & Tranberg Architects, in collaboration with NCC and Carl Bro, were chosen to develop and test the competition proposal as a prototype project.

The project concept builds upon two ideas: a constructive system based on a high degree of prefabrication and short construction time, and a collaboration model based on continuous production, development, and evaluation.

The two first test projects were built in Egebjerggård in Ballerup in 1996, Egebuen with 44 residential units and Egestrædet with 40 units.

The collaboration continued after the test period and has resulted in other realized residential projects, located at Aalborg Harbour, Teglholmen in Copenhagen South Harbour, Havnestaden on Islands Brygge, Bogholer Allé in Vanløse, and Bramdrup in Kolding – altogether approximately 600 units.
