Ørestad Apartments

The apartment building borders on a city park in the new “Ørestad” quarter in Copenhagen, close to a protected nature reserve, the water, and city centre.

The project has an active and a quiet side – active with balconies toward the park – quiet towards the courtyard.

The project has two towers of 10 and 12 storeys, while the rest of the building varies between 8 and 10 storeys. The apartments vary from one to three bedrooms in various apartment types, accommodating different living patterns.

Toward the city park, expressive balconies are staggered across the continuous facade, creating a dance of light and shadow over the course of the day and the seasons.

Toward the courtyard, each apartment has a projecting bay window, giving the facade a dynamic quality and play of light and shadow similar to the facade toward the park.
