Alborg Tax Centre

Alborg Tax Centre

The project is located near the Limfjord, on the eastern edge of the city, among heavily trafficked roads, apartment buildings, silos and warehouses.

The centre takes form as a single, five-storey volume with a single full-height atrium providing the unifying spatial element to which all circulation and programmatic functions are connected. The atrium allows light deep into the building and facilitates the naturally-ventilated environmental system.

The dark tiles of the facade echo the materials of the surrounding buildings and floor to ceiling glass partitions in a varied rhythm provide a lively contrast to the strict structure of the building.

Heavy traffic noise in the area required the development and incorporation of special sound dampers in the façade ventilation shutters in order to ensure a quiet interior environment.
